The state of Hidalgo is located in the center of Mexico, it is formed by 84 municipalities; its territory is 12.99 sq miles and young population of 2.4 million inhabitants and a GNP of 90 million pesos.

Hidalgo State shows from 1993 a very ample gap comparatively with the national registries. During 2007, Hidalgo registered exports by 507, 644, 494 dollars and imports by 471, 904.137 dollars resulting in a surplus balance of 35, 740.357 dollars.

During last years, the highest level registered of exports by Hidalgo was during 2005, $552,568,975 dollars, which shows a favourable local exports behavior, not counting the one registered during 2002 caused for external economic situations that broke out the constant development.

Nowadays, the politics of economic development implemented by local government, in order to increase the industrial competitiveness, has permitted consolidate sales from hidalgo into international markets such as: United States, Canada, Germany, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Chile, Japan, Hong Kong, Honduras, Korea, Belgium, Spain, France, Portugal, Nederlands, Sweden, Austria, United Kingdom, Taiwan, Brazil, Poland, Dominican Republic, Peru, El Salvador, Italy, Nicaragua, Venezuela and Panama.

This raised in exports has significantly contributed to the economic development of the state.
